The NTB Provincial Government collected 46 sacrificial animals—30 cows and 16 goats—for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. A portion will be distributed to extremely poor villages in NTB.

National Zakat Agency (Baznas) NTB Chairman Lalu Muhammad Iqbal Murad stated the animals were sourced from various contributors, including heads of regional agencies, central government institutions, and the private sector. ‘Baznas NTB merely collects the animals, which include contributions from the NTB Governor, Deputy Governor, Provincial Secretary, and central government agencies,’ Iqbal confirmed on Wednesday.

The Governor donated a 970kg cow, the Deputy Governor another 970kg cow, and the Provincial Secretary a 750kg cow. ‘Senior officials, OPD heads, and partner institutions each contributed one cow,’ he added.

Bank NTB Syariah’s board donated three cows, and PT Telkom Mataram’s director contributed one. ‘All sacrificial animals will be distributed in three ways, including canned meat for NTB beneficiaries,’ Iqbal said.

Some animals will also go to extremely poor villages under the Desa Berdaya program and be distributed via mosques across NTB.

Abdul Aziz Fahmi, Head of Religious Affairs in the NTB Provincial Secretariat’s Welfare Bureau, confirmed the meat would directly reach communities, enabling extremely poor villages to experience Eid al-Adha joy this year. ‘This will primarily go to poor residents,’ he added.
