The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) is conducting a re-audit of the corruption case involving the 2023 Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition. The audit is being carried out to determine the state’s financial losses.

Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office, Muh Zulkifli Said, confirmed the re-audit on Tuesday (28/7/2026). The office is not using the audit from the NTB Inspectorate, which previously calculated state losses at Rp 2.6 billion, as the basis for its case. That finding was only used as grounds to initiate the investigation.

Zulkifli stated that his office will collaborate with the national Audit Board (BPK) to calculate the state losses. The NTB High Prosecutor’s Office has already questioned several officials and former officials from the NTB Provincial Government regarding the case.

Among those examined are former NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah, former NTB Regional Secretary Lalu Gita Ariadi, former Head of the NTB Tourism Office Jamaluddin Malady, and former NTB Inspectorate Head Ibnu Salim.

The Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition 2023 was funded by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with a total budget of Rp 24 billion. The event was organised directly by the NTB Tourism Office. Investigators found evidence of budget misuse, including overpayments to providers and unpaid taxes, resulting in the initial finding of Rp 2.6 billion in state losses.
