NTB Police Chief Invites Santri Burn Victim to Seek Treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital

West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja visited Sahid Al Hudri (14), a santri who was a victim of a burning incident by a friend at the Rosudatussaulatiyah Al Ibrahimy Islamic Boarding School in Central Lombok on 13 December 2025. During the visit, the Police Chief invited the victim to undergo treatment at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram.

Kalingga arrived at the victim’s home in Setiling Village, Batukliang Utara District, around 10.20 WITA on Tuesday (7/7/2026). He was accompanied by the Chairwoman of the NTB Regional Bhayangkari, Widhy Kalijaga, the Head of the NTB Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Zamroni Aziz, the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the NTB Police, Commissioner Arissandi, and the Director of PPA and PPO of the NTB Police, Commissioner Ni Made Pujewati.

Upon arrival, Kalingga immediately shook hands with the victim’s parents. The Chairwoman of the NTB Regional Bhayangkari observed the victim’s condition and engaged him in conversation. The visit was a form of empathy from the National Police regarding the incident that befell the two santri victims of the burning at the Islamic boarding school.

‘Today we came to the victim’s house as a form of empathy from the National Police. We saw the victim who suffered serious injuries due to the incident that occurred in December 2025. And alhamdulillah, for further treatment, we are taking the victim to the Bhayangkara Hospital for more intensive care for both victims,’ Kalingga told reporters.

The NTB Police Chief stated that the visit, together with the NTB Ministry of Religious Affairs, aimed to see the victim’s condition firsthand while ensuring the survivors received treatment from professional medical personnel. ‘We are ensuring that these two victims must receive intensive care. Alhamdulillah, both parents of the victim also agreed, and the mother will also accompany the intensive care at Bhayangkara Mataram,’ he said.

In addition to inviting the victim to undergo treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital, Kalingga also handed over compensation in the form of cash and basic necessities to help ease the family’s burden during the treatment process. ‘As the Police Chief and the Head of the Regional Office, we provide compensation to ease the medical expenses,’ he stated.

At the same location, the Head of the NTB Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Zamroni Aziz, appreciated the Police Chief’s initiative to visit the victim directly and arrange for treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital. He mentioned that all medical expenses would be covered by the Police Chief. ‘This is a form of his attention to the nation’s children, of course, the Islamic boarding schools in Central Lombok and NTB. Alhamdulillah, he will also take the victim for treatment and all care will be borne by him,’ he said.

Zamroni also ensured the continuity of the two victims’ education after the treatment process is complete. According to him, the NTB Ministry of Religious Affairs will facilitate the transfer of the basic education data (dapodik) so that both can continue their education at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Central Lombok. ‘Of course, also for us regarding the sustainability of the child victims’ education. These children previously attended junior high school; together with the Child Protection Agency (LPA), we are currently moving the dapodik to the MTs. And insyaallah, we will provide them with a scholarship,’ he asserted.
