NTB Police Chief Confirms Suspects in Lombok Student Burning Case to Be Named This Week
West Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja has confirmed that the investigation into the burning of three students in Central Lombok Regency is ongoing. He stressed that the naming of suspects is being pursued this week. “The investigation is continuing. We are making every effort to ensure that suspects can be named and announced this week, so that all public questions can be answered clearly,” Kalingga said in a statement received in Mataram on Tuesday, after visiting the victims’ families. He said that Central Lombok Police investigators have upgraded the handling of the case to the investigation stage, which is leading to the naming of suspects. In addition to the legal process, the NTB Police will also oversee the fulfilment of restitution rights or compensation for the victims. “We hope this step can help ease the burden on the victims and their families,” he said.
