The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police have engaged the NTB Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to calculate state losses in an alleged corruption case concerning the distribution of social assistance (bansos) from the 2023 discretionary fund allocations (pokir) of the Mataram City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).

The state loss calculation is being carried out by the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the NTB Police. The audit process by BPKP NTB is currently ongoing.

“We are still waiting for the BPKP (NTB) audit,” said NTB Police Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Ade Zamrah, to detikBali on Thursday (27/8/2026).

Zamrah has not yet disclosed the potential state losses identified by investigators. According to him, the value of state losses is still awaiting the results of the BPKP NTB calculation.

“We are still waiting for the audit,” he added.

In handling the case, investigators have examined a number of witnesses. However, Zamrah did not reveal details of the witness examinations.

The social assistance from the pokir funds distributed by Mataram City DPRD members originates from the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT). The distribution was carried out through the Mataram City Trade Office (Disdag).

The social assistance was intended for traders. Applications for the assistance were made in groups, with each group consisting of 10 members. Each group received Rp 50 million.

In its distribution, the social assistance is suspected of not following proper mechanisms. Recipients are suspected of not submitting proposals beforehand. Instead, recipients’ names were directly entered into the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) and the Budget Implementation Document (DPA) of the Mataram City DPRD.

As a result, the recipients of the social assistance are suspected of not being on target.
