NTB Museum to Launch Exclusive Night Tour Programme

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) State Museum is preparing an exclusive tour concept to provide a new experience for the public through its ‘Night at the Museum’ programme, scheduled for the third week of August 2026. ‘We hope this programme can offer a different and valuable experience for visitors,’ said Head of the NTB Museum, Ahmad Nuralam, in Mataram on Tuesday. The three-day Night at the Museum programme allows visitors to enjoy historical and cultural collections at night with an exclusive tour concept in the museum’s Khazanah Room. Nuralam explained that the exclusive tour requires registration with a limited number of participants, enabling visitors to enjoy the museum’s atmosphere more intimately. Visitors will not only be guided around to view ancient artefacts but will also enjoy the evening ambience while listening to musical performances and engaging in discussions with archaeologists at Mantar Square, located on the right side of the museum grounds. ‘The Khazanah Room, which serves as the exhibition space, is 70 per cent complete. We have arranged the room; the remaining work involves adjusting the lighting and arranging the collection items,’ said Nuralam. The Night at the Museum programme will showcase around 90 artefacts, ranging from various household tools, traditional ceremonial equipment, jewellery, and weapons, to ancient coins from several countries. Nuralam stated that this programme is the museum’s inaugural evening event, as the 44-year-old regional museum has previously only served daytime visits. He emphasised that the NTB Museum is now not merely a repository for artefacts but also a dynamic, educational public space that remains relevant to the times.
