The West Nusa Tenggara General Elections Commission (KPU NTB) is encouraging all political parties participating in elections to actively update their membership and management data through the Political Party Information System (SIPOL).

KPU NTB Chairman M. Khuwailid stated that this step is important to maintain the accuracy of political party data, which continually changes due to organisational dynamics and membership developments in the regions. “Not only membership, but also changes in political party management that occur from time to time,” he said in Mataram on Sunday.

According to him, the continuous updating of membership and management data via SIPOL was conveyed during the Coordination Meeting for Continuous Political Party Data Updating through SIPOL for the First Semester of 2026, held by KPU NTB on Thursday (18/6).

Khuwailid explained that the policy of updating political party data is carried out every semester due to the high dynamics occurring within parties, both regarding membership and management. Changes in member status, shifts in management, and replacements of officials at various levels need to be reflected in the data stored in SIPOL.

According to Khuwailid, political parties are one of the main pillars of democracy and have a strategic role in improving the quality of democratic life. Therefore, synergy between election organisers and political parties must continue to be strengthened, including in aspects of data management and political education for the public.

Meanwhile, KPU NTB Member Zuriati stated that continuous maintenance of political party data is more efficient than conducting large-scale updates when election stages begin. Through SIPOL, the KPU can monitor party leadership decisions, management structures, names and positions of officials, and ensure women’s representation in political party management. “We urge political party officials to make the best possible use of the SIPOL application,” she said.
