The Selection Committee (Timsel) for candidates of the Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province for the 2026-2029 period has begun finalising the entire selection mechanism. The committee is ensuring the selection process is conducted professionally, objectively, transparently, accountably, and free from intervention.

This commitment was reinforced during a Timsel Coordination Meeting held in the Commission I Meeting Room of the NTB Provincial DPRD on Monday (6/7/2026). The meeting was attended by the five Timsel members, the NTB Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) Assessor Team, the NTB Provincial General Hospital (RSUP) Medical Team, and the Implementation and Secretariat Team.

The Chair of the NTB KPID Timsel, Ahsanul Khalik, stated that the coordination meeting was an initial step to align the perceptions of all elements involved in the selection process. According to him, there must be no differing standards at any stage, from administrative selection and the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) to psychological testing and interviews.

“We want to ensure the entire selection process is carried out professionally, objectively, transparently, accountably, and in accordance with applicable regulations. After this meeting, there should be no more differences in perception,” Aka, as he is known, told reporters on Tuesday (7/7/2026). “All stages must be accountable, both administratively and legally,” he continued.

Aka stressed that integrity is the main foundation of this selection. The committee is committed to treating all participants equally regardless of their background. To anticipate fraud, the entire process will be fully documented.

At the administrative selection stage, the committee agreed to use a uniform checklist to verify all participant documents. Beyond checking document completeness, the committee will also conduct direct verification with the issuing institutions to ensure the validity of health certificates, drug-free certificates, diplomas, and employment history.

“We must ensure all submitted documents are genuinely valid. There should be no documents that appear to meet the requirements administratively but do not reflect the actual conditions,” Aka asserted.

For the written test stage, the committee is collaborating with the NTB BKD to prepare a CAT-based examination. A total of 100 question items have been prepared, covering national broadcasting regulations, KPID institutions, national insight, digital media developments, and local broadcasting content in NTB.

Aka stated that a strict security system is being applied from the preparation to the execution of the CAT to prevent question leaks. The committee is also preparing simulations to anticipate technical disruptions, such as power outages or internet network problems.

A committee member from the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), Aliyah, said the test material must be capable of filtering commissioner candidates who are ready to face the era of media convergence. “The test material must reflect the participants’ ability to understand broadcasting regulations, broadcasting ethics, digital media developments, and broadcasting challenges,” Aliyah said.

For the psychological test, the committee is collaborating with professional assessors from the BKD Competency Assessment Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) to assess participants’ emotional stability and leadership. In the final stage, the interview, the committee will use uniform question guidelines and assessment indicators. This step is taken to minimise subjective assessments and the potential for collusion.
