Investment realisation in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) reached IDR 33.73 trillion during the first half of 2026, with the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) sector remaining the dominant contributor. Head of the NTB Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Irnadi Kusuma, reported that realisation in the first quarter stood at IDR 18.07 trillion, followed by IDR 15.17 trillion in the second quarter (April-June period).

Irnadi stated that this achievement reflects the continuously growing investment climate in NTB, driven by both Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Direct Investment (PMA). “Cumulatively, in the first half of 2026, we have recorded a realisation of IDR 33.73 trillion. For the second quarter alone, our non-MSME investment realisation reached IDR 15.166 trillion,” Irnadi said during a press conference on NTB’s investment achievements at Bale Kita on Thursday (6/8/2026).

According to DPMPTSP NTB data for the second quarter of 2026, PMDN investment reached 81.85 percent, valued at IDR 12.414 trillion, while the PMA sector contributed 18.15 percent, or IDR 2.725 trillion. The ESDM sector remained the primary driver, recording an investment realisation of IDR 11.977 trillion, or 79 percent, in the second quarter alone. The Tourism and Creative Economy sector ranked second with IDR 1.095 trillion (7.2 percent), followed by the Industrial sector at IDR 722.27 billion (4.8 percent), Trade at IDR 390.19 billion (2.6 percent), and Public Works and Housing at IDR 245.90 billion (1.6 percent).

“The ESDM sector still dominates both PMDN and PMA. For PMDN, ESDM recorded a value of IDR 10.29 trillion, while for PMA it reached IDR 1.68 trillion. The tourism sector is also growing rapidly, especially from foreign investment entering Central Lombok and other potential locations,” Irnadi explained. In terms of regional mapping, West Sumbawa Regency received the largest investment realisation in NTB during the second quarter of 2026, totalling IDR 11.444 trillion, followed by Dompu Regency with IDR 1.593 trillion and Central Lombok Regency with IDR 616.26 billion.

For PMA, the largest source country was a consortium of several nations with USD 136.64 million, equivalent to IDR 2.254 trillion, followed by Spain with USD 6.26 million (IDR 103.28 billion) and Australia with USD 4.7 million (IDR 77.98 billion). The MSME sector in NTB also recorded rapid growth in the first half, with investment realisation reaching IDR 496.67 billion, a sharp increase of 22.28 percent compared to the first half of 2025, which was IDR 406.19 billion. “MSME investment growth rose by more than 22 percent. This is proof that the risk-based business licensing system (OSS) is capable of stimulating entrepreneurial enthusiasm at the grassroots level,” he added.

Irnadi affirmed that the NTB Provincial Government remains committed to providing licensing ease and protection for small business actors through the implementation of Government Regulation (PP) Number 7 of 2021. The provincial government is optimistic about achieving the 2026 investment realisation target set by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of IDR 64.83 trillion. “We have already exceeded the target for the second quarter, meaning we have reached 51 percent, and we still have two to three months left,” he said. Irnadi finds the MSME sector particularly compelling due to its strong driving force in fostering NTB’s investment climate, targeting MSME investment to reach IDR 1 trillion. “It has now reached around IDR 400 billion. This means we are optimistic. Our target in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) of IDR 68.43 trillion can be achieved optimally by the end of the year,” Irnadi concluded.
