NTB Inspectorate Audits Three Stalled Feed Factories from Zul-Rohmi Leadership Era
The Inspectorate of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is auditing three stalled animal feed factories in the Science Technology and Industrial Park (STIPark), Banyumulek Village, Labuapi Subdistrict, West Lombok. The audit request was submitted by the NTB Regional Research and Innovation Agency (Brida) because the three factories are built on its office land.
The three projects under audit include an animal feed factory (feedmill), corn seed processing, and a corn dryer. They were constructed during the leadership of NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah and his deputy Sitti Rohmi Djalilah (Zul-Rohmi) through an asset lease scheme with Malaysian investor PT Taza Industri Internasional in 2023.
However, the cooperation did not proceed as planned. Although the investor had disbursed around Rp 1.5 billion in the first year, factory operations never commenced. The leased machinery is said to have been inoperable from the start of the contract.
NTB Inspectorate Inspector Budi Herman stated that the audit of the three stalled factories began on Monday (4/5/2026). The examination is intended to unravel the issues preventing the projects from operating since they were built three years ago.
“It’s been three days now. Still in the preliminary examination. Whether it’s reasonable or not,” said Budi on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
Budi did not specify a deadline for releasing the audit results. However, he affirmed that the audit could be completed in the near future.
“The target is as soon as possible because the issues are quite complex and scattered,” explained Budi.
Nevertheless, Budi revealed that one challenge during the inspection process is the involvement of numerous parties, from BRIDA to the Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag). It is possible that the Malaysian investor will also be involved.
Budi explained that the audit team has its own methods for resolving such issues. At least 10 auditors are involved in this process, but the number may increase or decrease depending on field conditions.
Budi chose not to discuss data as the audit is ongoing. The former prosecutor asked the public to await the official results from the Inspectorate once the audit is complete.
“No, don’t talk about preliminary data. The important thing is that after it’s finished, we’ll report it,” Budi emphasised.
According to Budi, this project has long been a concern because it is considered to have great potential, particularly in building industrialisation in NTB. However, its implementation has not been optimal. Even the lengthy cooperation process with the investor should have resulted in clear benefits for the region.
