NTB High Prosecutor's Office Reschedules Zulkieflimansyah's Examination for Next Week

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) has rescheduled the examination of former NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah in the investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the 2023 Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition. The examination is scheduled to take place next week after Zulkieflimansyah twice failed to comply with investigators’ summons. “Next week,” said Harun, a Kejati NTB spokesperson, on Wednesday (15/7/2026). Harun did not detail the exact schedule for Zulkieflimansyah’s examination, only stating that the session next week is in accordance with the summons letter. Previously, the Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office, Muh Zulkifli Said, revealed that Zulkieflimansyah had twice failed to appear. “Yes, there will definitely be a new schedule (for the examination),” Zulkifli stated on Tuesday (14/7/2026). The Kejati NTB also recently cancelled taking a statement from the former Head of the NTB Tourism Office, Jamaluddin Malady. The Head of the Government Bureau at the NTB Regional Secretariat failed to be examined even though he had arrived at the Kejati NTB because he was not accompanied by his legal counsel. Jamaluddin has been examined several times previously by investigators, most recently on Monday (6/7/2026). Apart from Jamaluddin, a number of former officials within the NTB Provincial Government have also been examined, including former NTB Inspectorate Inspector Ibnu Salim, former Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency Samsul Rizal, and former NTB Regional Secretary Lalu Gita Ariadi. The Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition 2023 was held at the Tohpati Sayang-Sayang Circuit in Mataram City with a total budget reaching Rp 24 billion. The funds were channelled through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy during the transition of the governor’s position to Lalu Gita Ariadi. The event was organised directly by the NTB Tourism Office. However, it is suspected that a significant portion of the Rp 24 billion budget was not used as intended. Findings indicate an overpayment to service providers and a tax shortfall amounting to Rp 2.6 billion. The breakdown includes Rp 1.2 billion in payments to partners, a tax shortfall of Rp 404 million, a payment difference by the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) of Rp 601 million, and a tax shortfall from IMI NTB of Rp 356 million. An excess in official travel budget of Rp 6.2 million was also discovered.
