NTB High Prosecutor's Office Raids Bank NTB Syariah Over Alleged Rp 11 Billion Corruption Case

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor’s Office has raided the Bank NTB Syariah office in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption involving an Rp 11 billion capital loan granted to PT Carsten Group Indonesia (CGI) for the organisation of the 2023 Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP).

The Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) of the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office, Muh Zulkifli Said, confirmed the raid conducted by the investigative team. The search took place on Thursday, 23 July 2026, at the Bank NTB Syariah office on Jalan Udayana, Mataram, during which investigators seized several documents.

While Zulkifli declined to specify the exact nature of the seized documents, he confirmed they are related to the capital loan provided to PT CGI. In addition to the search, investigators have interrogated several bank employees and intend to call in expert witnesses to assist with the case.

Zulkifli explained that the Rp 11 billion capital allocation to PT CGI is suspected of deviating from established mechanisms. The case has been upgraded from an inquiry to a full investigation due to findings of alleged unlawful acts that could result in state losses.

Although the exact amount of potential state losses has not yet been disclosed, the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office is working alongside the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) to calculate the total impact. Zulkifli clarified that this case is distinct from the ongoing inquiry into the 2024 MXGP funding and the investigation into the Rp 24 billion Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition (LSMC) 2023 corruption case, which involved funds from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
