The Nusa Tenggara Barat High Prosecutor’s Office has placed former Bima Kota Police Chief Didik Putra Kuncoro, a suspect in a narcotics case, in detention at the headquarters of Battalion C of the NTB Brimob Unit in Bima City. Spokesperson for the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office, Harun Al Rasyid, stated in Mataram on Thursday that the transfer of detention was part of the second phase of proceedings, involving the handover of the suspect and evidence from police investigators to public prosecutors. “So, from the implementation of phase two today, we have placed the individual in detention at the Battalion C Satbrimobda NTB headquarters in Bima City,” said Harun. He explained that the public prosecutor did not place Didik in the Class IIB Raba Bima Detention Centre like other suspects in the case due to security considerations. “He was not detained in the detention centre for security reasons,” he added. Harun clarified that the seized money is not related to the alleged money laundering offence also involving Didik, which is still under investigation by the police headquarters. “That is Rp1.8 billion from the dealer Boy and Rp1 billion from Koko Erwin,” he said. In this case, Didik is charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, along with applicable criminal provisions. He is also charged under Article 137 letter a of the same law in conjunction with provisions in the Criminal Code and the Criminal Adjustment Law. The public prosecutor has placed the other five suspects in detention at the Class IIB Raba Bima Detention Centre. In uncovering the methamphetamine distribution case in Bima City, which also involved two police officials, investigators have named 10 people as suspects. Besides Didik Putra Kuncoro, the suspects who have not yet been transferred to the public prosecutor are Erwin Iskandar alias Koko Erwin, Ais Setiawati, Hamid alias Boy, and Satriawan alias Dae Awan, who remains on the wanted list.
