Mataram (ANTARA) — The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecution Office has received a Notice of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) in the name of Koko Erwin, a suspected drug lord who allegedly paid Rp1 billion in bribes to AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro during his tenure as Bima City Police Chief.

NTB High Prosecution Office Assistant for General Crimes, Irwan Setiawan Wahyuhafi, said in Mataram on Friday that his office had received the SPDP from the NTB Regional Police investigators.

"We received the SPDP on Thursday (19 February)," he said.

He confirmed that two SPDPs had been submitted by the NTB Regional Police investigators. In addition to the one in the name of Koko Erwin, the prosecution office also received an SPDP in the name of AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro. He did not elaborate further on the legal status described for Koko Erwin and AKBP Didik in their respective SPDPs.

Previously, on Thursday (19 February), AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro was officially given the sanction of Dishonourable Discharge (PTDH), or dismissal from the Indonesian National Police, based on a ruling by the National Police Headquarters Ethics Panel through the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearing.

The most severe police ethics sanction was announced in an official statement by the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, at the TNCC Building, National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Thursday (19 February).

The KKEP hearing found evidence of a violation committed by Didik, namely that he had solicited and received money through the Head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Malaungi, sourced from drug lord Koko Erwin.

Regarding the narcotics criminal case, AKBP Didik is also a suspect in an investigation by the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency's (Bareskrim) Narcotics Crime Directorate in connection with narcotics possession of various types found during a search of his private residence in Tangerang.

The narcotics evidence found in a suitcase included 16.3 grammes of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy tablets, 19 alprazolam tablets, 2 Happy Five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine.

In addition to the narcotics possession case, AKBP Didik also holds suspect status in a drug trafficking investigation by the NTB Regional Police Narcotics Directorate, which had earlier named AKP Malaungi as a suspect during his tenure as Head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit.

AKBP Didik's role as a suspect at the NTB Regional Police level was uncovered through the development of the investigation and AKP Malaungi's testimony, which revealed AKBP Didik's active role when he was still Malaungi's superior.

The Rp1 billion payment from Koko Erwin, as well as the discovery of 488 grammes of methamphetamine at AKP Malaungi's official residence within the Bima City Police Barracks compound, were noted in the examination records as having been carried out with the knowledge and direction of AKBP Didik.

In connection with the case, AKP Malaungi suffered the same fate as his former superior, receiving a dishonourable discharge sanction following a KKEP hearing at the NTB Regional Police headquarters.
