NTB Government Wins Award for Strengthening Regional-Owned Enterprises
The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government has won an award for its achievements in strengthening Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD). The accolade, the Anugerah Program Ekonomi Terpuji in the category of Strengthening BUMD Management, was presented at the detikBali-Nusra Awards 2026. NTB Regional Secretary Abul Chair received the award on behalf of Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal at a ceremony held at Trans Resort Bali, Badung, on Friday (3/7/2026).
Under Governor Iqbal’s leadership, the provincial government moved swiftly to restructure BUMDs to enhance corporate performance and increase their contribution to the regional economy. An initial step involved transferring the payroll management for Government Employees with Work Contracts (PPPK) from Bank NTB Syariah to BPR NTB. As of 1 June 2026, PPPK salary funds from the Regional General Cash Account are no longer channelled through a holding account but are directly deposited into virtual accounts managed by BPR NTB before being forwarded to the employees’ accounts at Bank NTB Syariah.
This policy is the first phase in establishing a regional financial holding company, a plan outlined in the NTB Regional Medium-Term Development Plan. The strategy aims to create a clearer business segmentation between the two financial institutions, with BPR NTB focusing on the PPPK segment and Bank NTB Syariah concentrating on civil servants (ASN). The provincial government expects this synergy to strengthen both entities without creating unproductive internal competition, ultimately improving public services, enhancing financial governance efficiency, and boosting the competitiveness of regional enterprises as key contributors to NTB’s economic growth and locally-generated revenue.
