Mataram - The West Nusa Tenggara Food Task Force is intensively monitoring the stock and prices of Minyakita, which is the people’s cooking oil (MGR) with a sales system set by the government through Ministry of Trade Regulation Number 18 of 2024.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the NTB Provincial Police, serving as Head of the NTB Food Task Force, Commissioner Pol. Fx. Endriadi, in Mataram on Sunday, explained that the results of monitoring over the past few days indicate that Minyakita prices at several points are still below the Maximum Retail Price (HET) set by the government, which is Rp15,700 per litre.

“Our monitoring results show that a number of retail traders are still selling Minyakita at prices below the HET. Nevertheless, we continue to carry out supervision and guidance on an ongoing basis,” he said.

Supervision in NTB is conducted from first-level distributors, second-level distributors, to retail traders.

“This structured supervision scheme is to ensure that there are no price or distribution deviations,” he stated.

“During these activities, understanding is also provided to the public as consumers to be more careful in purchasing staple needs,” he added.

According to him, this food task force initiative is important to maintain price stability and the availability of Minyakita so that the public can still obtain essential needs at reasonable prices in accordance with government regulations.

Furthermore, Endriadi emphasised that the NTB Food Task Force will continue to ensure that monitoring activities are carried out in the field to prevent potential price surges or deviant practices that could harm the public.
