Lombok Tengah, NTB (ANTARA) - Secretary of Commission V of the NTB DPRD, Sitti Ari, visited and delivered aid to the flood-affected area in Bangket Parak Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, NTB, on Wednesday.

The aid distributed to the flood-affected residents included bottled water, instant noodles, eggs, cooking spices, prayer equipment (mukenah and sarong), snacks, and food for breaking the fast, such as dates and syrup.

During her visit, Sitti Ari was warmly welcomed by residents and the Head of Bangket Parak Village, Pujut District. She also interacted with and spoke to the flood-affected residents.

Sitti Ari expressed her concern for the residents affected by the disaster, especially those in the four hamlets: Pasung, Sengkudu, Peliakan, and Ranggekalo.

She emphasized that her actions were a form of attention and concern for the flood-affected residents.

“Our presence is also to provide mutual support,” said Sitti Ari.

Sitti Ari promised to coordinate with the regional government, both the provincial government and the Central Lombok Regency government, to immediately find a solution to the recurring floods in the village.

She hopes that there will be immediate construction or repair of infrastructure, especially drainage systems, to facilitate the flow of water during the rainy season.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bangket Parak Village, Genah Genuh, appreciated the visit of the Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the NTB DPRD, Sitti Ari, who greeted the residents and distributed aid. He acknowledged that aid from the regional government had also been provided to the residents.

The floods that hit his village occur every year. However, according to him, this year’s flood was the worst, with 382 families affected and the water level reaching 1.5 meters on the first day, Tuesday (February 24), and the water is still inundating residents’ homes.

“Our village has been prone to flooding. It happens almost every year. When there is heavy rain in the north, our village is always flooded,” he said.

He hopes that the regional government will immediately find a solution to the recurring floods in their village.

“We hope that there is a long-term solution from the regional government, both the province and the regency, so that the floods can be prevented,” he said.
