Mataram (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara Attorney General’s Office has confirmed that no suspects have been identified in the investigation into the alleged corruption of sponsorship funds for the Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) racing event.

Muhammad Zulkifli Said, Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB Attorney General’s Office, stated in Mataram on Wednesday that investigators are still deepening the evidence to assess the roles of potential suspects.

“We are sharpening and deepening it further. We are still collecting evidence,” he said.

The witnesses who have undergone examination come from third parties that supported the MXGP event at Selaparang on Lombok Island and Samota on Sumbawa Island, as well as promoters from PT Samota Enduro Gemilang and PT Carsten Group.

Additionally, there are witnesses from the management of a local government-owned sharia bank that acted as the sponsoring party for the event.

“For those who have not yet (been examined), we must still examine them here, not outside, that’s the rule,” he said.

The NTB Attorney General’s Office is handling this case following reports from several third parties that supported the event. They claim they have not received payments for collaborations worth billions of rupiah.
