NTB Appointed as Host for National Meeting of Indonesian Developers
Mataram – West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province has been entrusted to host the 55th National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Real Estate Association (REI), scheduled for May 2027. The economic impact on the region from this event is expected to be substantial, prompting great enthusiasm within NTB to organise this national gathering.
The REI National Working Meeting agenda is expected to bring together around one thousand developers from various regions across Indonesia.
The Chairman of REI NTB, Hery Athmaja, stated on Monday, 31 August 2026, that the confirmation of NTB as the host was finalised during the Regional Coordination Meeting of the REI Central and Regional Boards recently held in Makassar.
He noted that being appointed as the host presents a massive opportunity for NTB to introduce the region’s potential while simultaneously driving investment in the property and tourism sectors.
“It is confirmed that NTB will be the host. We have reported this to the Governor, Miq Iqbal. We certainly appreciate the Governor, who has expressed his support and enthusiasm,” said Hery.
He added that the presence of developers from across Indonesia will provide a wide-ranging economic impact for NTB. Visiting entrepreneurs will not only participate in organisational agendas but also have the potential to directly observe investment opportunities in the region.
“Undoubtedly, many entrepreneurs will come here. This is very positive for developers in NTB as they can observe and promote commercial areas. As a tourism region, the opportunities for them to invest here are quite significant,” he remarked.
Hery believes that the presence of thousands of entrepreneurs from various regions serves as a highly effective promotional tool for NTB. Particularly in the era of social media, the experiences of participants in NTB have the potential to spread widely across various digital platforms.
“The developers attending will themselves go on to make our region go viral. That is one of the positive impacts the region will experience,” he said.
Hery noted that participants will not only attend meeting sessions but also enjoy various tourist destinations and witness available investment opportunities in NTB. The economic impact is also expected to be felt by local businesses, particularly hotels, restaurants, transportation, souvenir centres, and MSMEs.
“The impact on MSMEs will be extraordinary. Hotels will certainly be involved, as will souvenir shops and other local entrepreneurs,” he added.
To ensure the event’s maximum success, REI NTB has begun preparing a organising committee and coordinating with the local government.
“Preparations start with the committee. We will then coordinate further with the Governor, Regents, Mayors, and other local governments, as this event will involve many parties,” he said.
According to Hery, local government support is crucial because the agenda is not merely an REI organisational activity, but also an opportunity to introduce NTB’s potential to business players from across Indonesia.
“We will also coordinate with the Tourism Office. We want participants to not only attend the meetings but also visit our tourist areas, including the circuit and other destinations,” he said.
REI NTB sincerely hopes this major momentum will provide a multiplier effect for the regional economy, while opening new doors for investment in the property, tourism, and MSME sectors. Consequently, REI NTB will strive to its utmost to ensure the success of the upcoming event.
