Novotel hotel gets bomb threat
BOGOR: The peaceful atmosphere of Bogor, West Java, was
suddenly disturbed by a bomb threat at Novotel hotel on Saturday
morning.
The threat, however, proved to be a hoax after a police bomb
squad called in to search the building found nothing suspicious,
Bogor Police chief Sen. Com. Anton Bachrul Alam said.
The bomb threat was conveyed by a male phone caller who spoke
to the hotel receptionist.
At almost the same time, a rumor started circulating among
hotel guests that the body of a staff member of the coordinating
ministry for political and security affairs had been found
floating in the hotel's swimming pool.
"According to the Sukaraja police chief, no corpse was
floating in the Novotel hotel's swimming pool," said Bogor Police
deputy chief Comr. Rusdi Hartono. --Antara
