Novita Hardini provides free eye health services for Trenggalek residents

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VII, Novita Hardini, has collaborated with several strategic partners to provide free eye health services to residents in Kampak and Suruh sub-districts, Trenggalek Regency, East Java. In a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, Novita said the eye health service is part of the implementation of the 10 Core PKK Programmes that directly address community needs. “We continue to strive to provide optimal services,” Novita stated. The eye health service programme was initiated in collaboration with UPRINTIS Indonesia, an institution she founded, involving several partners including BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, BPR Jwalita, Klinik Mata EDC, and PT JET. According to her, the activity aims to alleviate the economic burden on the community while improving residents’ quality of life through eye health services. “We recognise our role as protectors of the community. The welfare and protection of residents are priorities we carry out year after year,” she said. In addition to providing free eye health services, Novita also highlighted community complaints regarding the numerous BPJS Recipient of Contribution Assistance (PBI) cards that have been deactivated. “Health issues are as important as food security. Do not let these crucial programmes be overshadowed by a focus on just one need,” she said. According to her, the impact of suboptimal health services for low-income communities is significant. “I urge the government to truly improve the direction of its policies. Health services must reach everyone without burdensome bureaucratic obstacles for the underprivileged,” she stated.
