Trenggalek, East Java (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Novita Hardini launched a book titled “Noise and Silence” as part of the Kartini Day commemorations in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, on Saturday.

The book launch formed part of the TGX Women Summit held at the NSC Building in Trenggalek, serving as an initiative to encourage women to rise and create through their life experiences.

Novita stated that the book “Noise and Silence” contains stories of several women’s journeys in facing and overcoming various life trials, hoped to serve as inspiration and lessons.

“This book is a reflection that every woman has the strength to face her life issues. Sometimes, the best person to advise us is ourselves,” she said.

“When someone writes down their life journey and reads it back a few years later, it can become the best advice for themselves,” she added.

In addition to the book launch, the TGX Women Summit was filled with screenings of documentaries and animations by young local filmmakers from Trenggalek.

Novita assessed that the potential of young people in the creative economy sector is showing positive development, although many local talents grow outside their home regions.

For this reason, her side is striving to accommodate young talents, both in literacy and filmmaking, through various collaborative programmes and training.

“Later, we will also collaborate with local talents in various projects, including plans for workshops or boot camps to develop content creators in Trenggalek,” she said.
