Novah Ship to Boost CDIA's Growth - Investor Daily
JAKARTA, investor.id - The liquid chemical logistics vessel Novah, owned by PT Chandra Daya Investasi Tbk (CDIA) through its subsidiary PT Chandra Shipping International (CSI), officially made its maiden docking at the pier of PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPN) on Tuesday (12/5/2026). CDIA Director Merly stated that the addition of the Novah vessel will support the company’s growth. “Certainly, we expect that with the addition of the Novah vessel, it will support revenue from the logistics sector, which will contribute to CDIA’s growth in the future,” she said when questioned by reporters at the PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPN) pier on Tuesday (12/5/2026). She explained that as part of strengthening the maritime logistics fleet, Novah is expected to support more efficient distribution of industrial products in serving domestic and regional logistics needs. Novah is a 9,000 Deadweight Tonnage (DWT) liquid chemical logistics vessel designed to support more flexible and efficient cross-regional distribution. “Liquid chemical tanker, deadweight around 9,000, stainless steel. Its uses are for Chandra Asri’s feedstock raw materials, as well as Chandra Asri’s production. All chemical materials, such as pyrolysis gas, MTBE, it can also carry caustic soda, and future editions,” she said. In the future, Novah also has the potential to support the distribution of other chemical products, in line with the increasing need for trade and industrial logistics connectivity in the Southeast Asia region. In the construction process of Novah, CDIA partnered with Usuki Shipyard, a Japanese shipyard known for its modern technology and high-quality standards in developing liquid chemical logistics vessels. Meanwhile, in terms of performance, CDIA, a subsidiary of PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA), recorded net revenue of US$41.2 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 19% from the same period in 2025 at US$34.6 million.
