Notification letters on property tax

JAKARTA (JP): The City Revenue Office will begin distributing
property tax (PBB) notification letters to taxpayers throughout
the city on March 25.

Office chief Wahab Rachmatsjah said yesterday that the office
would be distributing the tax notification letters in two stages.
First, from March 25 to June 7, taxpayers will be urged to pick
up the notification letters from subdistrict offices. During the
second stage, which will take place on June 14, subdistrict
offices will distribute the notification letters door to door.

"We hope taxpayers will collect the notification letters from
subdistrict offices and not to wait for the letters to be
delivered to their houses," Wahab said.

He said each subdistrict should distribute all notification
letters to its residents within 15 days. To facilitate this, the
city administration has ordered subdistrict offices to offer
their services on both Saturdays and Sundays.

He said his office would distribute about 1.2 million tax
notification letters, in a bid to fulfill the city
administration's target of Rp 285 billion in revenue in the
1995/1996 fiscal year.

The target for the coming 1995/1996 fiscal year is Rp 83.6
billion higher than that for the 1994/1995 fiscal year. (yns)
