KOMPAS.com - The London-based technology company Nothing officially launched an over-ear headphone named Nothing Headphone (a). The device is positioned as a more affordable alternative to Headphone 1, released in July 2025.

Nothing Headphone (a) was announced alongside the launch of the Nothing Phone (4a) series.

In terms of design, Headphone (a) continues Nothing’s signature futuristic design language, complete with its boxy earcups.

What makes the headphone different is the outer panel now adorned with more expressive colours, namely pink, yellow, and neutral colours black and white.

This differs from Headphone 1, which had a transparent outer panel and earcups in black and white.

The headphone also supports fast charging. With a five-minute charge, users are said to get up to five hours of playback time.

For audio, Nothing Headphone (a) is equipped with a 40 mm driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm.

This material is claimed to help produce a stiffer driver structure, reducing distortion and delivering clearer sound.

The device supports Hi-Resolution Audio Wireless and LDAC codec. Users can also adjust the sound profile through the Nothing X app. There, there is an eight-band equaliser for more detailed frequency adjustments.

Headphone (a) also features adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) with three levels: low, medium, and high.

There is also a transparency mode that allows users to hear ambient sounds without removing the headphones.

For voice calls, Nothing has embedded a three-microphone AI-based system capable of analysing ambient noise and focusing on the user’s voice.
