Note This: Operating Hours of Japek II South Toll Road During Lebaran Return Traffic
JAKARTA – The functional Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South toll road section is one of the mainstays for easing congestion during the 2026 Lebaran return traffic.
However, unlike typical toll roads, this route does not operate 24 hours a day and has flexible operating hours that adjust to on-site traffic conditions.
The President Director of PT Jasamarga Japek Selatan, Charles Lendra, stated that since its opening on 19 March 2026, this functional toll road has been operated daily with varying times.
He explained that generally, the toll opens in the morning and closes according to the level of vehicle density on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
“On average, it opens from 09:00 WIB, depending on traffic conditions,” he said.
According to him, during peak return traffic periods, the operating hours are even extended until the early hours due to high vehicle volumes.
This condition shows that the operation of the Japek II South toll road is entirely situational. When traffic on the main route starts to ease, this functional lane is no longer opened until late at night.
In addition, the use of this toll is limited only to class I vehicles or private vehicles.
The operation of this route also considers safety factors. In bad weather conditions, such as heavy rain that can reduce visibility, the route will be temporarily closed to prevent potential accidents.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant when traversing this section. In addition to maintaining speed, road users are also asked to obey the available traffic signs.
Considering the road conditions are still relatively new and not yet fully like a typical operational toll road.
