Traffic engineering in the form of one-way systems, contraflow, and odd-even restrictions will still be applied during the 2026 Eid homecoming traffic, including on Thursday (19/3/2026). This policy is implemented following the increase in vehicle volume on the Trans-Java toll road sections, which serve as the main route for holidaymakers heading to Central Java and East Java. The peak homecoming traffic itself will start to be felt from 18 March 2026, so traffic engineering continues to be optimised at several crucial points. Below is the complete schedule for the odd-even, contraflow, and one-way systems that are still in effect. The odd-even system is implemented to limit vehicles based on number plates in order to reduce density on the main homecoming routes.
