The Motor Vehicle-Free Day (HBKB), or Car-Free Day (CFD), on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin will run only until 9am. The change is intended to ensure smooth traffic during the state visit to Jakarta by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on 10–11 October 2026.

Jakarta Transportation Agency head Budi Awaluddin said the adjusted CFD hours were part of efforts to support traffic flow during the state visit.

“This adjustment to the HBKB hours is part of our efforts to support smooth traffic during the state visit,” Budi said in a written statement on Saturday (10 October 2026).

Budi urged people planning to visit the Sudirman–Thamrin area this morning to adjust their schedules in line with the change. Residents were also asked to follow instructions from officers on the ground.

“We urge people who will be active in the Sudirman–Thamrin area tomorrow morning (today) to adjust their HBKB activities, as it will end at 9am, and to follow the instructions of officers on the ground,” he said.

The Jakarta Transportation Agency is also continuing to coordinate with relevant agencies, including the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, to support traffic management during the Egyptian president’s state visit. CFD normally runs until 10am, but today it will end at 9am.
