Note! Schedule for the Idul Adha 2026 Isbat Hearing
The Ministry of Religious Affairs will hold the Isbat hearing (determination) for the start of Zulhijah 1447 H. This hearing will also announce the date for Idul Adha 1447 H/2026 CE for Muslims in Indonesia.
According to the official website of the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), the Isbat hearing for determining Idul Adha 1447 H/2026 CE will be held on:
Day, date: Sunday, 17 May 2026 (29 Zulkaidah 1447 H)
Venue: H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religious Affairs service office, Jakarta
Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Abu Rokhmad explained that the process of determining the start of Zulhijah integrates the hisab method (astronomical calculation) and rukyat (crescent moon observation). These two approaches complement each other to produce a comprehensive decision.
According to him, hisab data provides an initial picture of the crescent’s position, while rukyat serves as factual confirmation through direct observations at various monitoring points across Indonesia.
“This approach ensures that the decisions made are not only based on scientific data but also confirmed through field observations,” he clarified.
