Note! List of Roads Diverted During the Jakarta Kolosal Bedug Event
The atmosphere of Takbiran night in Jakarta will be lively with the Jakarta Kolosal Bedug event held around the Sudirman-Thamrin area. Several protocol roads will be diverted situationally to ensure the smooth running of the event, which will also be enlivened by a torch parade.
The Jakarta Kolosal Bedug activity involves around 261 sub-districts, with each sending four drums along with a torch parade on Takbiran night, routing through Pintu Barat Daya Silang Monas-Bundaran HI-Jalan MH Thamrin-Bundaran HI. Along this route, a car-free night will be implemented.
Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ujang Harmawan, stated that traffic engineering will begin on Friday, 20 March 2026, at 20:00 WIB until completion. Therefore, the public intending to pass through the area is advised to note the affected road sections and prepare alternative routes to avoid congestion.
“Traffic engineering is situational,” said Ujang.
Ujang detailed the diverted road sections, including Jalan Jenderal Sudirman from the intersection of Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI). Then, Jalan MH Thamrin from Bundaran HI to Bundaran Patung Kuda, Jalan Kupingan BNI 46, Jalan Kota Bumi, Jalan Baturaja, and Jalan Kebon Kacang.
Also, Jalan Kebon Sirih on the west and east sides, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim on the west and east sides, Jalan Sunda, and Jalan Imam Bonjol.
As for alternative routes during the diversion, from north (Harmoni) to south (Semanggi), it will be diverted via Jalan Hayam Wuruk-Jalan Ir H Juanda-u-turn to Jalan Suryapranoto-Jalan Balikpapan-Jalan Cideng Timur-Jalan Mas Mansyur-Jalan Prof Dr Satrio-Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-and so on.
Additionally, it can go through Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat-u-turn in front of the Ministry of Transportation Building-Jalan Abdul Muis-Jalan H. Fachrudin-Jalan Cideng Timur-Jalan K.H Mas Mansyur-Jalan Prof Dr Satrio-u-turn to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and so on.
Another option is via Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat-u-turn in front of the Ministry of Transportation Building-Jalan Abdul Muis-Jalan H Fachrudin-Jalan Cideng Timur-Jalan K.H Mas Mansyur-Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo-Jalan Galunggung-u-turn to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and so on.
