Note! Emergency contact numbers and important information for visiting Dieng, Wonosobo
Tourists planning to visit the Dieng Plateau via Wonosobo Regency are advised to note emergency contact numbers and important information to ensure their journey remains safe and comfortable.
The Wonosobo Regency Government, through the Department of Tourism and Culture, has confirmed that access routes to Dieng are safe and passable as of Saturday, 7 March 2026. In addition, tourists are encouraged to save a number of emergency service contacts that can be reached in case of emergencies during the journey or while in the tourist area.
“The tourism route to Dieng via Wonosobo Regency, whether from the direction of Wonosobo City or via the alternative route from Temanggung via Tambi, is in a safe state and passable,” Fahmi said in an official release on Saturday, 7 March 2026.
He added that the main route from Wonosobo to Dieng has also been repaired and resurfaced at several points by the Central Java Provincial Government, making the journey smoother and more comfortable.
To improve tourists’ sense of safety, the Wonosobo Regency Government provides a number of emergency services that can be accessed while in the area, including emergency services accessible along the route.
Fahmi also reminded tourists to remain vigilant about safety during the journey to Dieng, because the route to the highland area is in mountainous terrain with many ascents and turns.
Tourists are advised to check their vehicles before departure, especially the condition of brakes, the engine and ensuring sufficient fuel.
If feeling tired while driving, tourists can also make use of several rest points or rest areas available along the route to Dieng.
The Wonosobo Regency Government also urges tourists to verify information circulating, especially regarding road conditions to Dieng. Recently, information about a landslide that cut off access to Dieng circulated, but this incident occurred on an alternative Pejawaran–Batur route in Banjarnegara Regency, not on the main Wonosobo–Dieng route.
