Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has imposed a sanction to relieve Kalisari Sub-District Head Siti Nurhasanah of her duties, instead of deactivating her, as a consequence of a case involving an AI-generated photo report uploaded by Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Officers (PPSU) on the JAKI application.

Pram, as he is affectionately known, stated that this does not mean the sub-district head is being fully dismissed, but rather relieved from her current position.

“Being relieved of duties means from the position she currently holds. Coincidentally, in Kalisari, she is the one holding the sub-district head position; we are freeing her from the sub-district head role for guidance purposes,” explained Pramono in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

Pramono admitted that he does not want to ruin someone’s career.

Therefore, he chose a sanction limited to relieving her of duties.

“After she is guided to improve, we will give her the opportunity to contribute better,” said Pramono.

Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Inspectorate recommended to the East Jakarta Administrative City Mayor to deactivate Kalisari Sub-District Head Siti Nur Hasanah due to her subordinates following up on citizen complaints using artificial intelligence (AI).

Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma stated that a systematic examination had been conducted, referring to government internal audit standards, to uncover facts and determine necessary follow-up actions.

“The results of this examination serve as the basis for corrective steps and strengthened oversight, so that the handling of public complaints runs more orderly, accountably, and in accordance with regulations,” he said.

Meanwhile, the involved employees, namely the Head of the Kalisari Sub-District Government Section and the Head of the Kalisari Sub-District Economy and Development Section, are recommended to receive disciplinary punishments and guidance.

Then, the three PPSU officers proven to be involved will be subject to sanctions in accordance with the general contract terms.

“This is not just about sanctions, but also comprehensive system improvements so that similar incidents do not recur,” Dhany revealed.
