Not Rp 199 Million Anymore: Has the BYD Atto 1 Price Increased?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - News of the BYD Atto 1 electric car price increase has been widely discussed on social media. The issue appears from a post alleging pricing adjustments for the BYD’s entry-level electric car. In circulating posts, it is stated that the price of the BYD Atto 1 has increased for both of its variants. Previously, the BYD Atto 1 Dynamic variant was marketed at Rp 199 million. However, the information circulating says the price has risen to Rp 219 million. Based on the statement of one BYD salesperson, the information about the price increase is said to be in effect. “Yes, the price increase has been in effect for two days now, since the start of March. But at our dealer, there are outstanding orders from customers who have not paid the final instalment yet. So while units remain, we will offer the old price, which can be allocated,” the salesperson said when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday, 6 March 2026. Kompas.com has sought confirmation from Luther Panjaitan, Head of Public and Government Relations PT BYD Motor Indonesia. As of this report, there has been no reply regarding the issue. On BYD’s official site, the Atto 1 price still lists the old price, namely from Rp 199 million to Rp 235 million.
