Not Just Running: Merdeka Run 2026 Race Village Involves 81 MSMEs to Boost Economic Turnover

The National Monument (Monas) area will become the Race Village for the Merdeka Run to be held in Jakarta on Saturday (29/8/2026). The presence of this Race Village means the festivities will not only take place on the course.

There will be 81 MSME tenants, an entertainment stage, and various photo points for participants and visitors attending the Race Village. This makes the Merdeka Run 2026 event a space where sport and economic activity meet.

Participants can shop, enjoy various products, and interact directly with business owners present during the Merdeka Run 2026 series.

In addition to MSMEs, the main stage will serve as an entertainment hub with performances by a number of musicians, including Wali Band and Moluccan Soul. Several photo spots have also been prepared to enhance the participant experience after completing the race.

The presence of these various activities shows that sporting events can open up opportunities for surrounding business sectors. The thousands of participants attending also create demand for food, beverages, fashion, sports equipment, and various supporting products and services.

Merdeka Run 2026 carries the theme ‘Bangun, Bergerak, Merdeka’. Around 10,000 participants will take part in the race, which starts at 05.00 WIB from the Merdeka Palace area with a distance of 8.1 kilometres.

Through the Race Village, the spirit of ‘Bangun, Bergerak, Merdeka’ is present not only in the running activity, but also through economic movement involving MSMEs, communities, and sports-supporting industry players.
