Not Just Khalid Basalamah, KPK Also Receives Money Return from Other Hajj Travel Bureaus

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that, in addition to the Director/Owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour), Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, the anti-corruption agency also received money refunds related to the alleged corruption case of the 2023-2024 Hajj quota from other Hajj travel bureaus. “KPK did not only receive the money refund from Mr KB, but there were also refunds from other PIHK (Penyelenggara Ibadah Haji Khusus or Hajj travel organisers),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Thursday (23/4/2026). “Therefore, the investigators will certainly still schedule examinations for associations or other PIHK that have not yet been examined or made refunds,” he said. “So, PT Muhibbah returned the funds to us, we don’t know what money it was. The amount was around Rp 8.4 billion, right. Yes, it was returned,” said Khalid after being examined as a witness in the case at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/4/2026). He said that his side handed over the money to the KPK after the anti-corruption agency investigated the Hajj quota case. “So, the money wasn’t kept by us. The money was given by Muhibbah, then we didn’t know what money it was, KPK asked, we returned it when asked, that’s it. So, once again, in this case, we are the victims,” said Khalid. “We didn’t know what that money was. So when KPK asked, we returned it because we didn’t know the status of that money,” he added.
