Not Just an Indian Brand: Agrinas Secures Deal for 900 Trucks with Isuzu

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has not only partnered with Indian manufacturers in procuring vehicles for the Merah Putih Village Cooperative. In addition to collaborating with Indian producers such as Tata and Mahindra, Agrinas has also reached an agreement with a Japanese brand. Each Merah Putih Village Cooperative will be supported by three types of vehicles: trucks, pick-up trucks, and three-wheeled motorcycles. The Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, said that the cooperation with Isuzu was carried out through the official dealer network. “PT Armada Autotara, an Astra dealer, ultimately made a deal with Agrinas. And at this point, the agreement between Agrinas and Isuzu is that they are able to supply 900 units. That’s what we agreed on,” said Joao, during a conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (February 24, 2026). “They can only supply 900 units because the deal with Isuzu happened later, so they couldn’t get a supply of bodies, because all the local body manufacturers in Indonesia are already supplying other brands,” said Joao. “So they are no longer able to supply because all the body manufacturers are fully booked by other brands,” he said. From Isuzu, participation in the procurement process has been confirmed. Rian Erlangga, Business Strategy Division Head of PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, stated that Isuzu participated in the tender with Agrinas. “Yes, that’s right, Isuzu participated in the procurement process, namely for six-wheeled trucks,” said Rian, to Kompas.com, Wednesday (February 25, 2026). The negotiations resulted in an agreement to supply 900 units of the Isuzu ELF NMR model, a light-duty six-wheel truck for logistics and construction. The Isuzu Elf NMR has a GVW of up to 8.25 tons, six gears, a strong axle, and modern features such as Cabin Lock Warning, a USB charger, and a rear camera. “Negotiations have been carried out between Isuzu and Agrinas with a final agreement of 900 units of the Isuzu ELF NMR,” said Rian. “The obstacle is not because of the body manufacturer or Isuzu not being able to fulfill the order. We are very open to supporting this national strategic program. In terms of time and planning, we need a longer production process,” said Rian.
