The latest Reading Habit Level (TGM) survey was conducted by the National Library in 2025, with data updated on Statistics Indonesia’s (BPS) website in February 2026.

Reading Habit Level (TGM) is defined as the degree of public behaviour and habits in acquiring knowledge and information from various media formats. Provinces are assessed using survey methodology measuring key dimensions.

Scores are categorised into five levels: 0-20 (very low), 20.01-40 (low), 40.01-60 (moderate), 60.01-80 (high), and 80.01-100 (very high). Higher scores indicate stronger public habits in seeking knowledge and information.

According to the survey, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) recorded the highest TGM at 62.05%, followed by West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) at 61.19% and South Sumatra at 60.86%.
