Not all policemen are bad
Not all policemen are bad
From Pikiran Rakyat
Basofi Sudirman once sang a song that began with the line, "not all men." But, if I was Doel Sumbang, I would certainly have swooned, "not all policemen." I have recently had a positive experience with the police.
One day in late March, my young brother and I went downtown. For some reason of late, we have been subjected to many songs about the police. It is as if all that is related to this department is bad, such as extortion, bashings, and aggressive behavior, and other unpleasant practices.
But on that day, we met a young, handsome, and neatly clad policeman, who treated my brother and I in a friendly manner. He was softly spoken, and this touched me on the inside. I could not find any negative traits in this man.
Much public prejudice surrounds the police, but this man made me realize that amongst the few bad policemen, there are many good ones.
We must not cast judgment on the entire force.
For Doel Sumbang, how about composing a song called: Not all the policemen?
