Nostalgia Gathering: President Prabowo Brings Together Former Aides from Kostrad-Kopassus After 30 Years
President Prabowo Subianto held a warm nostalgic gathering with former aides and security personnel who had accompanied him during his active military service. The reunion took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Sunday, 8 March, in the afternoon.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the guests who attended were individuals who had been part of Prabowo’s security circle when he served in the elite Kostrad and Kopassus units approximately 30 years ago.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the meeting served not merely as a reunion but also as a space for the former security personnel to share stories about their life journeys. One particularly touching moment occurred when a former aide recounted the success of his son.
“One of them shared that his son, who was educated by the President, is now a university graduate and has secured employment,” said Teddy in his official statement on Monday, 9 March.
Teddy explained that these former aides now pursue diverse career paths. Some remain as active TNI personnel continuing to serve the nation, whilst others have entered retirement. Notably, Prabowo continues to support those who have retired by offering employment opportunities at several of his companies, demonstrating his sustained attention to those who struggled alongside him in the past.
The Hambalang gathering reaffirmed Prabowo’s leadership character, which is known for greatly valuing loyalty and familial relationships forged since his days in the red beret corps. Amidst his responsibilities as the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto once again demonstrated his deeply humanistic side.
