North Tapanuli Regency Strengthens Anti-Corruption Integrity in Public Services
The North Tapanuli Regency government in North Sumatra is strengthening anti-corruption integrity for civil servants (ASN) in conducting government operations, particularly within the public service sector in the region.
The Regent of North Tapanuli, Jonius Taripar Parsaoran Hutabarat, stated that anti-corruption integrity serves as a vital foundation to prevent the abuse of power, illegal levies, and gratification in public services.
“State servants are not only tasked with carrying out government administration, but must also possess the integrity to dare to reject all forms of corruption,” said Jonius after opening the 2026 Training on Building Integrity and Anti-Corruption Culture in North Tapanuli on Wednesday.
Practices such as illegal levies, bribery, gratification, nepotism, and the misuse of official facilities, he noted, must be prevented and addressed so as not to harm the community or damage public trust.
He mentioned that the activity, held in collaboration with the North Tapanugi District Attorney’s Office, is one of the efforts to strengthen anti-corruption bureaucratic integrity within the local regency government environment.
“Through this training, the North Tapanuli Regency government encourages the formation of a work culture that prioritises integrity and corruption prevention,” he said.
The Regent requested that participants, consisting of various regional apparatus organisations as well as sub-districts and villages, must act as agents of change who are brave enough to reject bribery and gratification in all forms.
“The values of integrity obtained through this training must be immediately applied in the performance of their respective duties,” he added.
He expressed hope that all levels of the administration could implement the results of the training so that transparent governance, upholding honesty, can be realised in public services.
“We also call upon the entire community to take part in corruption prevention by reporting any indications of corrupt practices found,” he concluded.
