North Sumatra Provincial Government Hopes MPR RI Marching Competition Strengthens Unity

Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Medan has emerged as the winner of the Marching Creativity Competition (LKBB) and the Flag Ceremony Management Competition (LTUB) for the North Sumatra province. The second and third places were secured by SMA Negeri 1 Buntu Pane and SMA Negeri 1 Binjai, respectively.

Following this achievement, MAN 1 Medan will proceed to compete in the national-level LKBB and LTUB competitions, which are scheduled to take place alongside the Constitution Day commemorations this coming August.

Representing the Governor of North Sumatra, the Head of Kesbangpol, Mulyono, expressed his appreciation to the MPR RI for organising the LKBB and LTUB in North Sumatra. He noted that these activities are highly beneficial for senior high school students, serving not only as a competition but also as a means to enhance national insight and patriotism.

“For the children participating in this competition, this is more than just a contest. It must contribute to instilling the spirit of unity, discipline, and love for the nation. Through this event, students should also be able to develop a sense of brotherhood among themselves, including with those students who did not have the opportunity to participate,” Mulpno stated in a briefing on Saturday (23/5/2026).

On this occasion, Mulyono also urged participants to protect themselves and their environment from the dangers of drug abuse. He noted that North Sumatra is currently recorded as having a low rate of drug abuse, and he expressed hope that continued achievements in such programmes would help further reduce drug-related issues in the province.

“We are striving to ensure that no more young people are exposed to drugs. Therefore, I ask that these children remain protected. Furthermore, we must look after our brothers, sisters, and our environment to ensure no one falls victim to drugs,” Mulyono concluded.

The Marching Creativity Competition (LKBB) and Flag Ceremony Management Competition (LTUB) are collaborative efforts between the MPR RI, the Purna Paskibraka Indonesia (PPI), and the North Sumatra Provincial Government. The event was officially opened by the Acting Secretary General of the MPR, Siti Fauziah, who also presented the prizes, medals, and trophies to the winners.
