Tapanuli Selatan, North Sumatra (ANTARA) - The North Sumatra Provincial Government distributed one cow intended for the temporary shelter residents (huntara) of Napa Village, Batang Toru District, Tapanuli Selatan, North Sumatra, on Thursday.

“For today, we who are in the huntara of Napa Village, Batang Toru, have received a delivery of one cow from the North Sumatra provincial government, which we will slaughter and distribute to the 245 households in the huntara,” said the Head of Garoga Village, Risman Rambe, to ANTARA on Thursday.

The cow received by the huntara residents is estimated to weigh more than one tonne, sufficient to be shared among them.

In welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026, the distribution of the slaughtered beef, carried out communally by the residents, provides relief for them.

Using whatever tools they had, this animal slaughtering activity created warm relations among the fellow residents, who originally came from the same village, namely Garoga Village, Batang Toru District, Tapanuli Selatan.

“Alhamdulillah, we have received this meat; it seems we will process it into rendang for Eid,” said Rahmi Simamora, a huntara resident.

Meanwhile, not far from Rahmi’s house, a mother with three children plans to turn the meat into soup.

In this meat distribution, all residents received one plastic bag of meat containing half a kilogram.
