North Sumatra Post-Disaster Worship Infrastructure Recovery Project Worth Rp247.255 Billion Accelerated
PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has been assigned to handle the Emergency Post-Disaster Handling of Worship Infrastructure in North Sumatra Province. This assignment is part of the recovery effort following floods, landslides, and earthquakes that struck the region, as established through a transition status from emergency to recovery by the North Sumatra Provincial Government.
The assignment was signed by the Commitment Making Officer for Strategic Infrastructure Implementation II, Eva Prasusani, and the Head of the Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit for North Sumatra, Kurniawan, at the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, Ministry of Public Works. Hutama Karya was represented by its Executive Vice President of Infrastructure II, Andung Damar Sasongko.
Through a direct appointment mechanism, the Ministry of Public Works officially tasked Hutama Karya with the emergency procurement project for post-disaster worship infrastructure in North Sumatra, valued at Rp247.255 billion. This swift action follows the extension of the emergency-to-recovery transition status after flash floods, landslides, and extreme earthquakes hit the region.
The strategic project targets the restoration of worship facilities spread across eight regencies—Deli Serdang, Humbang Hasundutan, Langkat, Mandailing Natal, Pakpak Barat, Serdang Berdagai, South Tapanuli, and Central Tapanuli—as well as three cities: Binjai, Medan, and Padang Sidempuan. The emergency handling is planned to commence at the end of June 2026, with a strict completion target by the end of December 2026. The scope of work includes structural, architectural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) restoration.
To accelerate field implementation, Hutama Karya, through its Infrastructure Division II, has formed a Joint Operation with local North Sumatra contractor PT Dungo Reksa, with partnership shares of 70 percent and 30 percent respectively. Hutama Karya acts as the lead firm. This collaboration aims to empower local contractors who understand the affected areas’ conditions while accelerating the restoration of public services for the community.
Hutama Karya’s Acting EVP of Corporate Secretary, Hamdani, stated that this assignment represents the company’s presence in supporting post-disaster recovery. “This assignment is a mandate for Hutama Karya to be present among the affected communities in North Sumatra. We are committed to carrying out the work with measured methods while maintaining occupational safety, so that worship infrastructure can be immediately reused by the community,” he said on Thursday (2/7).
Through this assignment, Hutama Karya not only restores affected worship infrastructure but also accelerates the return of social and religious activities for the community while empowering local contractors in the recovery process. “As part of the Danantara ecosystem, the company is committed to completing this emergency response with quality discipline, timeliness, and occupational safety, in line with the government’s Asta Cita support,” he concluded.
