North Sumatra Named Best Province in 3 Million Homes Programme Implementation

The North Sumatra Provincial Government has been awarded the title of Best Province in the Implementation of the 3 Million Homes Programme at the 2026 Regional Government Appreciation event in Batam, Riau Islands. The award recognises the province’s commitment and performance in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme to provide decent housing for the public.

Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution received the award and stated that it would serve as motivation to continue ensuring affordable and decent housing for the people of North Sumatra. The central government noted that North Sumatra’s support and commitment to the programme were significant.

Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency, M Qodari, stated that the appreciation was not merely an award but proof of the state’s presence in fulfilling the basic needs of the community. He highlighted the event as a symbol of synergy and collaboration between the central government, regional governments, and various institutions to improve public welfare.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian explained that the award ceremony aimed to create a balance between punishment and reward for regional governments. He noted that while some regional heads face legal issues, many others have achieved outstanding performance. As part of the reward, North Sumatra received assistance for the renovation of 300 homes. Deliserdang Regency also received the same award and assistance for 300 homes in the regency category.
