The Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Department of North Sumatra Province, Fariz Haholongan Hutagalung, stated that the aid was distributed to communities impacted by disasters. “We have distributed 10 cattle from the Governor of North Sumatra to the people of South Tapanuli and Central Tapanuli in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah,” said Fariz in Medan on Friday. He explained that the 10 cattle were directly handed over to several affected villages in South Tapanuli and Central Tapanuli, involving local sub-district heads and village heads. Each district received five cattle. The five cattle in South Tapanuli were given to Huta Godang Village, Garoga Village, Aek Ngadol Village, Sayur Matinggi Ward in Batang Toru Sub-district, and Tandihat Village in South Angkola Sub-district, one each. Fariz continued that the 10 cattle aid was provided by the North Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov Sumut) as a form of care, while also strengthening social solidarity among the affected communities. “The communities are facing difficult times due to the disaster, and we are ensuring they can still celebrate Eid al-Fitr properly,” said Fariz. Erizal Lubis, a resident of Huta Godang Village in South Tapanuli, expressed thanks to North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution for the aid. He admitted that the people in his village were greatly helped by the one cattle aid amid the post-hydrometeorological disaster conditions at the end of November 2025.
