North Sumatra Governor Distributes 2,500 Presidential Gift Packages on Eid al-Fitr Eve

Medan (ANTARA) - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution distributed 2,500 gift packages containing food items from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to North Sumatra residents on the eve of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

This was carried out by the North Sumatra Governor after welcoming the arrival of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Soewondo Air Base in Medan in front of the North Sumatra Governor’s Office on Friday.

The enthusiasm of online motorcycle taxi drivers was evident during the distribution of the gift packages by North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution along with Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, making the atmosphere at the location lively.

Not only online motorcycle taxi drivers, but also thousands of these gift packages were distributed to North Sumatra residents passing in front of the North Sumatra Governor’s Office at Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro Number 30, Medan.

Among them were North Sumatra residents dominated by housewives, as well as other informal workers on this Eid al-Fitr eve.

Although thousands of North Sumatra residents appeared eager to receive these packages, the readiness of the on-site officials ensured that the distribution proceeded in an orderly manner.

Hundreds of packages containing food items and snacks had previously been distributed to North Sumatra residents in the afternoon ahead of iftar time in the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.

“So we distributed the gift packages from Mr President on this Eid al-Fitr eve to the residents in front of the Governor’s Office. I, along with the Cabinet Secretary, distributed 2,500 gift packages,” explained Bobby.

Chairman of the Medan and Surrounding Two-Wheeled Motorcycle Taxi Association (Godams) Agam Zubir appreciated Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for providing the gifts to online motorcycle taxi drivers.

His side also appreciated the attention of North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution who was present directly to accompany North Sumatra residents, especially the lower-middle class, on this Eid al-Fitr eve.

“Of course, we thank President Prabowo Subianto, and also North Sumatra Governor along with his team who have organised this event, so that the high enthusiasm from the residents made the atmosphere orderly,” stated Agam.
