North Sumatra Governor Bobby Receives 15 Candidates for Information Commission
Medan (ANTARA) - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has received 15 names of candidates for the province’s Information Commission (KI) from the selection committee, to be submitted to the North Sumatra Legislative Council (DPRD) for a fit and proper test.
“We express our gratitude for carrying out this very open selection of 15 names,” Bobby said after receiving the selection committee at the Governor’s Office on Friday.
According to Bobby, competence is the primary aspect in determining the candidates for the North Sumatra KI. Therefore, the selection results will be immediately conveyed to the DPRD Sumut for the fit and proper test stage.
He hopes the process will produce commissioners capable of carrying out their duties professionally. “Hopefully, the results of this selection team will produce the best people to become commissioners of the North Sumatra KI,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the new commissioners can strengthen public information transparency and have a positive impact on community welfare. “With the election of new commissioners, public information transparency can be maintained in the future. Hopefully, it will bring improvements, especially a direct impact on community welfare,” Bobby stated.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the North Sumatra Information Commission Selection Team, Hatta Ridho, said that all stages of the selection had been conducted openly, objectively, and accountably since 1 April 2026.
According to Hatta, around 100 participants took part in the selection process, which included a computer assisted test (CAT), psychological tests, and several other assessment stages according to the established weighting. “After a plenary meeting, we determined 15 participants. We submit these selection results to the Governor to be forwarded to Commission A of the North Sumatra DPRD,” he said.
Hatta added that, according to the provisions, the Governor of North Sumatra has the right to propose one name as a representative of the provincial government element in the membership of the North Sumatra Provincial Information Commission.
