North Sulawesi goes on to PON

JAKARTA (JP): North Sulawesi and Jakarta took their berths for
the upcoming National Games, to be held in September, after
defeating their opponents in the bridge national qualifying round
on Wednesday evening.

North Sulawesi, which won in the National Games in 1973 and
1981, beat South Sumatra in the 10th round with 22-8, and East
Nusa Tenggara in the 11th round with 21-9, with a total score of
236 VP.

East Java was second with a total score of 217 VP after
beating Irian Jaya 18-12 and finishing in a draw 15-15 with East
Nusa Tenggara.

Jakarta led Group B with a total score of 232 VP, Antara
reported. Central Java followed its leading position with a total
score of 211 VP. (05)
