North Maluku Provincial Government Offers 50 Per Cent Discount on Ferry Tickets and Free Bus Services for Eid Homecoming 2026
The North Maluku Provincial Government is providing subsidy in the form of 50 per cent discounts on ferry tickets and free bus services to support residents’ travel during the 2026 Eid homecoming period.
“The North Maluku Provincial Government, through the Provincial Transportation Department, is presenting a subsidised ferry ticket programme offering 50 per cent discounts to assist communities in undertaking travel that is safer, more comfortable, and more affordable,” said North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda in a statement on Thursday, 10 March 2026.
She continued, stating that the programme represents the government’s commitment to ensuring that residents can celebrate Eid with family without being burdened by high transportation costs.
Sherly stated that the ticket purchase period opened from 5 to 31 March 2026, for departures beginning from 12 to 31 March 2026.
The procedure involves downloading the designated application, selecting the desired route and travel schedule. Subsequently, users must enter data in accordance with their identity card (KTP), select the provincial subsidy ticket category, and complete payment.
After payment is processed, users should save the electronic ticket as proof of travel.
Meanwhile, registration for free bus passenger services can be carried out at the Galala Ferry Port and Sofifi.
For prospective homebound travellers who already possess a booking code, re-registration at the designated post is required.
The procedure involves attending the post and waiting in queue. After being called by an officer, participants must present their booking code and a photo identity document (KTP/KK).
Prospective homebound travellers who have already obtained physical tickets may undertake their homecoming journey according to the route and schedule listed on the ticket.
“We urge residents to book tickets according to the schedule using valid personal data,” Sherly stated.
