Ternate (ANTARA) - The Ternate Search and Rescue Office of Basarnas collaborated with BNPB, the North Maluku Provincial Government (Pemprov Malut), and the Ternate City Government to distribute logistical aid from Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Batang Dua Island. “The aid delivered to Batang Dua Island consists of assistance from the Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as from the North Maluku Provincial Government and Ternate City Government, transported using the KN SAR 237 Pandudewanata vessel,” said the Head of the Ternate Search and Rescue Office, Iwan Ramdani, in Ternate on Sunday. Iwan Ramdani stated that the Pandudewanata vessel carried logistical aid from the Vice President comprising 500 packages of rice, granulated sugar, and cooking oil. Meanwhile, aid from the North Maluku Provincial Government and Ternate City Government, BNPB, Social Services Office, Baznas, Food Services Office, and other related agencies included rice, granulated sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, eggs, mattresses, baby nappies, and other ready-to-eat meals, with a total of around 9 tons. In the meantime, North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda Laos emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring that all post-disaster handling processes are carried out swiftly. At the evacuation site, the governor visited directly and discussed matters with the earthquake victims. After hearing input from the evacuees, the Governor promised to fulfil and repair the basic facilities damaged by the earthquake as soon as possible, as well as to restore infrastructure including the port, bridge, and roads in Batang Dua.
